3 Ways to Illuminate Your Bathroom

Let’s suppose you are ready to remodel your bathroom.

Let’s suppose you are ready to remodel your bathroom. Depending on what your ultimate goal is, there are a number of ways you can approach it. Here’s some good news: you can add more light to your bathroom and save energy!

Use Ambient Lights

How exactly do you want to light your bathroom? This question should be on your mind as you follow through on the project. Ambient lights can be a great way to accomplish this effect. A chandelier will draw the eye in a grand way, even if it’s a relatively small one. If you decide to do this, remember to place the chandelier out of the way – so that the occupant won’t bump their head against it – after all, lighting from behind is much easier to do than lighting from above.

Use Task Lights

You may already know that task lights are hugely helpful in the kitchen. They can be useful in the bathroom as well. By using task lights, you can minimize the shadows in your bathroom that can make it harder to see what you’re doing. That way, it’s much easier to brush, floss, and prepare to face the day. If you’re looking to make the most of the new task lights in your bathroom, then be sure to pair them up. Vertical lights attached to the mirror’s sides are the best configuration when you need this type of illumination.

Use Accent Lights

One last suggestion is to use some accent lights. For example, using strip lights can help transform your master bathroom into your very own spa. Alternatively, you could play around with LED lights or undermounted lights. It’s okay if you’re not fond of the way those lights work; you can also deploy halogen lights instead. Either way, here’s something to think about: LED lights can help you save energy and money.
